Jonathan Clasberry is an Afro-Tejano filmmaker with roots in the Mississippi Delta. He has produced documentary series and films for Netflix, CNN, Hulu, & PBS. His WORK OFTEN features intimate portraits of everyday people as they take on structural or historical challenges. He’s particularly fascinated by the nuances of Black and brown life all around the world; the traditions we bring with us when migrate, what we borrow and share, how we form community.
His PRODUCTIONs have been honored with a Primetime Emmy, a Peabody, and an NAACP Image award, and screened at film festivals around the world. Recent PROJECTS include High on the Hog: How African American Food Transformed America; Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown; The 1619 Project, and The Astros Edge for PBS Frontline.
